NFL Draft Day is a hard day. It was the worst day in Scott's football career and still gives him anxiety every year.
Fortunes for individual players and whole teams will change overnight.
You can find a star, or pick the wrong guy.
Sometimes the right guy isn't picked. John Randle entered the NFL the same year Scott did. He wasn't drafted in the 12 round 1990 draft. He was able to bluff his way into a team's training camp. He's now in the football hall of fame.
Alex Smith was picked first in the NFL draft the same year Andrew Bogut was the first pick in the NBA draft. It was a big year for Utah.
Smith went to the 49ers, started, and didn't have a good experience.
Aaron Rodgers was drafted into the Green Bay Packers where he backed up Brett Favre, a real quarterback legend. Now Rodgers is a Super Bowl champion.
Scott had a similar draft experience. He was drafted late to the Miami Dolphins where he backed up Dan Marino, another football legend. It wound up being the best thing.
